Comment Period Open on Draft Report for the Malibu Creek Ecosystem Restoration Feasibility Study

The US Army Corps of Engineers will host a public hearing on Wednesday, March 1, to discuss the Draft Integrated Feasibility Report (IFR) and Environmental Impact Report related to its Malibu Creek Ecosystem Restoration Feasibility Study. The hearing will be held from 6:00-8:00 PM at the Las Virgenes Municipal Water District (4232 Las Virgenes Rd, Calabasas).

A major purpose of the study and project is to re-establish habitat connectivity along Malibu Creek and its tributaries and restore migratory access to former upstream spawning areas for indigenous aquatic species, such as steelhead trout, by removing obstructions in the creek, including Rindge Dam. The study area includes Malibu Creek and tributaries, and shoreline and nearshore locations outside of the watershed.

The public comment period is open from January 27, 2017 through March 27, 2017. Written comments may be submitted to:
