All non-essential City programs & Events have been canceled as a Coronavirus precaution. This includes all City of Malibu Community Services Department Programs, Rentals, Sports Leagues, and Special Events. Please visit the Virtual Recreation Center for recreation program livestreams and activities to do at home.
“There is no cause for panic and I understand the inconvenience that this presents, but the City’s number one priority is protecting public safety,” said Mayor Karen Farrer. “We must do everything possible to be prepared, follow public health officials’ recommended precautions to prevent the spread of Coronavirus, and protect our vulnerable populations.”
The City’s Dial-A-Ride program will continue to operate, and Dial-A-Ride vehicles are regularly disinfected.
The Senior Center will remain closed until further notice. However, staff will still be available to assist any seniors in the community that need assistance. For assistance, call the Senior Center at 310-456-2489 ext. 357.

Recreation programming is offered for all ages: Tiny Tot, Youth, Teens, and Adults. Enthusiastic instructors bring energy and life to many different recreational activities for the Malibu community.

Parent and Me classes require adult participation, which may include biological parents, adoptive parents, guardians, stepparents, grandparents, or any other type of parenting relationship. These playful, yet structured, Parent & Me classes give adults a chance to interact and nurture a relationship with their child. All classes promote bonding while helping children develop cognitive, social, and motor skills. Parent & Me classes are an opportunity to learn, play, and grow together.

The City of Malibu Community Services Department partners with the Boys and Girls Club of Malibu (BGCM) to offer After-School Enrichment workshops at Malibu Elementary School and Webster Elementary Schools. Program fees are complimentary for BGCM members for the 2019-2020 school year. *Non-BGCM members are welcome to participate in the programs and can register online at by using the community pricing above. Transitional Kindergarten (TK) pricing through the BGCM is only offered at Webster Elementary School.

Community Service Opportunities
The City of Malibu Community Services Department offers a variety of volunteer opportunities throughout the year. We are continuously looking for volunteers to assist with tiny tot programs, senior citizen programs, environmental programs, special events, sports and more.
The City of Malibu is an approved organization for Malibu High School Community Service Learning, and offers a great opportunity for Malibu High School students to complete their service-learning hours that is part of their curriculum to graduate. All hours completed by a student with the City of Malibu will count towards the 80-hour high school graduation requirement.
