Community Classes

COVID 19

All non-essential City programs & Events have been canceled until
April 30 as a Coronavirus precaution. This includes all City of Malibu Community Services Department Programs, Rentals, Sports Leagues, and Special Events.  Please visit the Virtual Recreation Center for recreation program livestreams and activities to do at home.

“There is no cause for panic and I understand the inconvenience that this presents, but the City’s number one priority is protecting public safety,” said Mayor Karen Farrer. “We must do everything possible to be prepared, follow public health officials’ recommended precautions to prevent the spread of Coronavirus, and protect our vulnerable populations.”

The City’s Dial-A-Ride program will continue to operate, and Dial-A-Ride vehicles are regularly disinfected.

The Senior Center will remain closed until further notice. However, staff will still be available to assist any seniors in the community that need assistance. For assistance, call the Senior Center at 310-456-2489 ext. 357.

Community Service Opportunities

The City of Malibu Community Services Department offers a variety of volunteer opportunities throughout the year. We are continuously looking for volunteers to assist with tiny tot programs, senior citizen programs, environmental programs, special events, sports and more.

The City of Malibu is an approved organization for Malibu High School Community Service Learning, and offers a great opportunity for Malibu High School students to complete their service-learning hours that is part of their curriculum to graduate. All hours completed by a student with the City of Malibu will count towards the 80-hour high school graduation requirement.

Volunteers must complete and sign the Volunteer Registration Form prior to assisting the City. Submit the Online Volunteer Form or print the Volunteer Registration Packet. For additional information on volunteering with the City, contact Lisa Crespo at 310-456-2489, ext. 279.
