If you were issued a citation for violation of missing or improperly displayed license plates, or missing, expired or improperly displayed registration tabs, you must provide valid proof of correction with your citation or notice.
Vehicle inspection for valid proof of correction may be obtained at any law enforcement or authorized agency such as one of the following:
- California Highway Patrol
- Sheriff’s Department
- Department of Motor Vehicles
Note that a photocopy of your registration will not be recognized as proof of correction.
Upon obtaining the proof of correction, mail it along with a $10 reduced violation fee to the City’s Parking Enforcement Center (see mailing address below). Please note, this must be done within 21 calendar days from the citation issuance date or by the courtesy notice due date.
NOTE: Any fees paid to an authorized agency for the inspection do not include the $10 reduced fine. The $10 fine must be mailed with your valid proof of correction and citation or courtesy notice.
