[ARCHIVED] UPDATE 5/16/21, 8:00 PM - Palisades Fire at 1,325 acres, 0% containment - No threat to Malibu

MONITORING FIRES IN THE AREA newsflash

(UPDATE - Sunday, May 16, 8:00 PM) - The Palisades Fire is holding at 1,325 acres. The evacuations and road closures within LA County will remain in place until further notice. The LA County Fire Department will provide an incident update after Monday morning. 


(UPDATE - Sunday, May 16, 9:00 AM) - The Palisades Fire, which broke out Saturday afternoon in the Pacific Palisades area of Los Angeles, is currently at 750 acres with 0% containment. Malibu is not threatened, and City staff continue to monitor the fire's status. Fire Department air attacks will continue throughout Sunday as weather permits.

Evacuation orders were issued late Saturday for portions of Topanga, and Topanga Cyn Rd remains closed between PCH and Mulholland Dr.
