Virtual Meetings
Hybrid Meetings
City Council and Planning Commission meetings are being conducted in a hybrid format that allows the public to participate in-person or remotely. Please review the agenda at malibucity.org/agendacenter for instructions on how to participate in a City Council or Planning Commission meeting. The Zoom Webinar link is printed on the agenda. Speakers will not be able to sign-up for City Council or Planning Commission meetings using the form below.
All other Commission meetings continue to be conducted virtually. Please follow the instructions below to sign up to speak at a virtaul Commission meeting.
Virtual Meeting Instructions
During the state of emergency in place during the COVID-19 pandemic, and in compliance with state and local public health orders, no physical location will be provided for commission meetings. The meetings will instead be live-streamed from remote locations.
Speaking during the meeting will be done through Zoom. You must sign up to speak, and then be present in the Zoom conference during the item on which you would like to speak. If you do not sign up to speak, you may not be called upon in the Zoom conference.
To sign up to speak during a meeting:
- Click on the "Sign Up To Speak" tab below.
- Scroll down to the list of meetings and click on the MICROPHONE ICON under options to the right of the meeting during which you want to speak.
- Check the item(s) on which you would like to speak.
- Scroll to the bottom of the list of items and click NEXT.
- Select your position: For | Against | No Position. Click NEXT.
- ENTER YOUR NAME AS IT APPEARS IN YOUR ZOOM ACCOUNT.
- Click SUBMIT.
After you have signed up to speak and before the item(s) you signed up to speak on is taken up, you will need to join the Zoom conference. To do this, click on the “Watch the Meeting” tab below and click on the large blue ZOOM BUTTON.

If you would like to stream the live meeting or join the live Zoom conference, click the "Watch the Meeting" tab below.
Requests to display media during a Council meeting should be directed to Parker Davis at (310) 456-2489 ext. 287 or media@malibucity.org. Material must be submitted by 12:00 PM on the meeting day.
Anyone experiencing difficulty connecting to the live Zoom meeting may contact Parker Davis, Media Technician, at 424-395-6433 for assistance.

Join The Meeting With Zoom:
The Zoom webinar link for hybrid City Council or Planning Commission meetings is printed on the agenda. Please visit malibucity.org/agendacenter and open the agenda document to find the link. Please follow the instructions below for virtual Commission meetings.
To join the Zoom conference, click the join link below. If you attempt to join the conference before the meeting has started your Zoom app will notify you the conference hasn’t been started by the host. Once the conference is started you will be allowed to join. Upon joining the meeting you will be placed in a waiting room until the meeting is called to order. If you have trouble with the link below, you can join the conference with the Zoom app directly by pasting the link below into the app. The Zoom app can be downloaded here: Zoom App Download
