Join the Cultural Festivities at Malibu’s Annual Poetry Summit: Transformation, May 17 at City Hall
The City of Malibu invites community members to attend the 2025 Poetry Summit: Transformation, the city’s premier annual poetry event, hosted by Poet Laureate Nathan Hassall. Join host Nathan Hassall, Poet Laureate of Malibu and founder of "The Poetry Vessel," and featured reader Lee Herrick, Poet Laureate of California for this special event featuring a diverse and accomplished lineup of poets, musicians, and artists, all exploring the theme of transformation through spoken word, live music, and meditation.

The event begins with an opening sound bath and meditation led by Heather Goldman and live music by ACall2Peace (Eduardo Del Signore, Federico Ramos, and Ron Wagner). There will be readings by local poets, including: Ann Buxie, 4th Poet Laureate of Malibu, Sean Colletti, Julie Daniels, Charlotte Ward, Shifra Wylder, Tracy Katz, Debbie Pommer-Siegel, Ricardo Means Ybarra, 1st Poet Laureate of Malibu, Jolynn Reagan. Readings by selected student poets from local schools, taught and mentored by Jolynn Reagan, Ricardo Means Ybarra, and Poet Laureate Nathan Hassall. The event concludes with a closing vocal performance by soprano Sonia Kazarova.
RSVPs are not required for this free event. Light refreshments will be served following the event. All ages are welcome.
