Give Your Input on the Design of the Permanent Skate Park - Survey is Open Through October 23
The City of Malibu’s Temporary Skate Park is open for public use, and progress is underway on the design for the Permanent Skate Park meant to provide Malibu’s youth with a safe, healthy outdoor sport and recreation resource that honors Malibu’s long-standing love of skateboarding.
The first Virtual Public Design Meeting for the Cit’s Permanent Skate Park was held on September 2, 2020. You can see the design consultant’s presentation from the meeting and watch the video of the meeting at www.MalibuCity.org/SkatePark.
Community members can also give their input about the design by taking the Skate Park Design Survey, which is open through October 23. The link to take the survey is posted on www.MalibuCity.org/SkatePark.
Meanwhile, the City’s Temporary Skate Park is open with COVID-19 safety guidelines in place, by reservation only, Monday through Friday, 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Make a reservation at www.MalibuCity.org/SkateParkk.
In 2019, the City Council approved the use of the Crummer/Case property adjacent to Malibu Bluffs Park for a Temporary Skate Park, and put out a Request for Proposals (RFP) for the design of a 12,500 square-foot Permanent Skate Park on the site.
