Trancas Canyon Park and Charmlee Wilderness Park are closed Monday, Oct 26 and Tuesday, Oct 27 due to Red Flag Fire Conditions in Malibu. The City will announce when the parks are open. Residents should monitor fire weather conditions on local news.

The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Red Flag Warning in effect from late night Oct. 25 through Tuesday afternoon Oct. 27 for strong northeast winds and very low relative humidity for all of Los Angeles and Ventura Counties except for the Antelope Valley. 

IMPACTS
Increased risk of fire ignitions due to strong winds downing trees and powerlines; Increased risk of power outages; If fire ignition occurs, conditions will be favorable for very rapid fire growth, extreme fire behavior, and long range spotting bringing a significant threat to life and property.

BE PREPARED
Residents should be prepared for potential wildfires and power outages associated with high winds, and potential evacuations if a fire occurs. Potential for malfunctioning traffic signals. Always approach an intersection where traffic signals are out as if it is an all-way stop sign. Watch for branches and other debris in the roadway.
