Renowned research doctor will discuss his experience with Sherpas on Mount Everest
(Malibu, CA) On Wednesday, July 23, Dr. Scott McIntosh will give the seventh lecture in the 2014 edition of the Malibu Library Speaker Series. Through funding set aside by the County of Los Angeles, the City of Malibu and the Malibu Library will host Dr. McIntosh at the Malibu Library Community Room (23519 W. Civic Center Way).
In 2007, Dr. McIntosh was the medical and research doctor for the SuperSherpas Expedition to Mount Everest. Known as “Sherpas,” they are acknowledged for their unique skill and ability to climb extreme altitudes of peaks and passes in the region. Dr. McIntosh will discuss his experience with the Sherpas and answer what physical, cultural, and mental traits allow them to continually break climbing records.
