Celebrity Chef Jeff Henderson to Speak at 2014 Malibu Library Speakers’ Series
August 20, 2014 (Malibu, CA) On Wednesday, September 3 at 7:00 PM, Celebrity Chef Jeff Henderson will give the eighth lecture in the 2014 Malibu Library Speakers’ Series. The event will be hosted by the City of Malibu at Malibu City Hall, 23825 Stuart Ranch Road, and is jointly funded by the County of Los Angeles and the City of Malibu.
Known as “America’s Most Inspirational Culinary Star,” Chef Jeff Henderson has accomplished a great deal despite a troubled past. Having served nearly 10 years in federal prison for drug trafficking, Henderson quickly turned around his life in 2001 to become the first African-American executive chef at the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas. Since then, Henderson has gone on to become a successful TV host with cable shows on the Food Network called “In the Kitchen,” “The Chef Jeff Project,” and an upcoming half-hour daytime TV show called “Flip My Food.”
Outside of the kitchen, Henderson shares his culinary knowledge and inspires others to realize their potential through his speaking career. His New York Times best-selling book, “Cooked” has garnered national attention most notably on “The Oprah Winfrey Show.” Sony Pictures has bought the rights to his book and life story, which is currently being developed into a major motion picture.
Henderson will be discussing his story and road to success. Admission is free, but reservations are required. To RSVP, call 310-456-6438.
