Third Community Meeting Set for Point Dume Traffic Management Plan

(Malibu, CA) – The City will hold its third community meeting about the Point Dume Traffic Management Plan on Thursday, June 16, 2016, 6:30 PM at Point Dume Marine Science School.

The meeting will offer an update on the recent traffic improvements made in the Point Dume area, including speed humps, speed feedback signs, reduction of speed limits, edge line striping and crosswalk striping. The removal of private encroachments within the public right-of-way will also be discussed.

The City of Malibu is in the process of creating a Traffic Management Plan for the Point Dume neighborhood to analyze existing conditions, and develop recommendations to reduce vehicle speeds and improve safety for vehicles, pedestrians, and cyclists. Community input plays a vital role in identifying and determining the plan’s recommended traffic safety improvements.

Input was received from residents during the first two community meetings in November 2015 and February 2016 and incorporated into the Point Dume Traffic Management Plan.

The meeting will be held at Point Dume Marine Science School (6955 Fernhill Drive, Malibu. Map - https://goo.gl/maps/y7jsHTnJep72). All community members are welcome and encouraged to attend to provide their input.

Written comments may be submitted by email to Rob DuBoux, Assistant Public Works Director, at RDuBoux@malibucity.org.

More information, including the agenda and staff presentation from the November 2015 Community Meeting, can be found at www.malibucity.org/PDTraffic.
