Pool Water Discharge Permit

The City is able to accept the disposal of pool water at the Civic Center Water Treatment Facility (Treatment Facility). A Pool Water Disposal permit application is required and submitted to the Public Works Department for further processing. The pool water will need to be transported by a private company to the City’s Civic Center Water Treatment Facility located at 24000 Civic Center Way.

In order to allow the disposal of the pool water at the Treatment Facility, the pool water cannot be salt water and the Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) of the pool water must be below 2,000 mg/L. If the testing results show the TDS is more than 2,000 but less than 3,000 mg/l, the Chief Plant Operator for the Treatment Facility will determine if the pool water can be disposed at the facility. The homeowner will need to grant access to their property in order to allow the City to sample the pool water. A fee has been established for this permit of $0.04 per gallon. If it’s determined that the Treatment Facility cannot accept the pool water, a portion of the fee paid will be refunded to the applicant.
