All Lap Swimmers must complete a Lap Swim Registration form upon arrival at the Malibu Community Pool.
One registration form or online registration is valid seasonally every three months. Please complete Lap Swim Registration at MalibuCity.org/Register.
All pool use is drop-in only. Lanes for lap swimmers will be issued on a first-come-first-served basis. Pool Facility Use Fees will be paid in person upon arrival. No credit cards accepted - exact change preferred.

SWIM LESSONS
The City of Malibu, Community Services Department is offering Learn to Swim Lessons in Spring, Summer and Fall 2026 for ages 1-10.

New participants to the program need to be evaluated by the coaching staff to ensure proper placement. Malibu Marlins accepts new team members during the quarter, and fees are pro-rated according to the start date. For additional information visit MalibuMarlins.com
Nemo Marlins (Ages 5-8)
The Nemo Marlins represent the initial stage of swimming in a club setting, where swimmers are required to independently complete one length of the pool (25 yards) with a consistent stroke. Participants will learn to follow instructions within a team dynamic and will develop proficiency in all four swimming strokes.

Junior Marlins (Ages 9-12)
The Junior Marlins are swimmers who will be coached in all strokes and get prepared for competitive swimming. This includes working on the correct swimming and stroke techniques as well as regular aerobic and high-intensity training programs to increase their endurance strength and mental well-being.

Marlins Elite (Ages 13-17)
The Marlins Elite are swimmers with a higher level of swimming experience and will continue on perfecting their techniques in all strokes as well as more detailed focus on underwaters, starts and turns and an aerobic and high-intensity training program to prepare them for their highest potential in competitions.

Marlins Adult Conditioning (Ages 18+)
The Marlins Adult Conditioning program encompasses a diverse group of individuals with varying backgrounds and swimming abilities. This includes former college swimmers and ex-high school swimmers aiming to resume their swimming journey, and others simply looking to improve their fitness levels.

The City of Malibu is hiring Lifeguards, Pool Managers, and Learn to Swim Instructors to work at the Malibu Community Pool located at Malibu High School. Apply online if you have a current Red Cross Lifeguard Certificate, applications are being reviewed daily.
