All non-essential City programs & Events have been canceled until
April 30 as a Coronavirus precaution. This includes all City of Malibu Community Services Department Programs, Rentals, Sports Leagues, and Special Events. Please visit the Virtual Recreation Center for recreation program livestreams and activities to do at home.
“There is no cause for panic and I understand the inconvenience that this presents, but the City’s number one priority is protecting public safety,” said Mayor Karen Farrer. “We must do everything possible to be prepared, follow public health officials’ recommended precautions to prevent the spread of Coronavirus, and protect our vulnerable populations.”
The City’s Dial-A-Ride program will continue to operate, and Dial-A-Ride vehicles are regularly disinfected.
The Senior Center will remain closed until further notice. However, staff will still be available to assist any seniors in the community that need assistance. For assistance, call the Senior Center at 310-456-2489 ext. 357.

Youth Sports Coaches Corner
The City of Malibu is committed to monitoring the quality of the programs and services it provides, and asks all sports coaches to provide League/Program Feedback.
Anyone interested in becoming a volunteer coach for basketball, baseball, flag football, lacrosse, volleyball, or tennis must fill out and submit a Volunteer Application.
All coaches are subject to a background check. Background checks are run through Southeastern Security Consultants Inc. (SSCI) as part of the National Recreation and Park Association Operation TLC Volunteer Management Program.
Middle School Sports Programs
The Middle School Sports Programs are run in partnership with Malibu High School. The Parks and Recreation Department offers feeder programs for: Flag Football, Volleyball, Tennis, Basketball, Lacrosse, Cheerleading, Swimming, and Water Polo. The Middle School Sports Handbook outlines the programs offered each season, along with contact information, philosophies, and seasonal information.
