Community Services

Department Responsibilities

The Community Services Department (formerly known as Parks and Recreation) provides programs and facilities to meet the recreation and leisure needs of the community. The department administers the use of and maintains several park and athletic facilities in the City, and provides programs for all ages in a wide range of interests and activities.

The department operates facilities at local schools through a joint use agreement with the Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District.

Department staff provides administrative support to the Malibu Arts Commission, Harry Barovsky Memorial Youth Commission, and the Parks and Recreation Commission.

Our community is important to us, and we want to ensure we meet your needs. Please take a moment to fill out the Program Interest Survey and the Program Feedback Survey. Your feedback will help us plan events and activities that you will enjoy.
